Sure, it can be intimidating buying a house in another country.
And it can be overwhelming moving to a new country with a different language … but you’re already considering this change so you’re up for the challenge.
Buying a house in Ecuador is a lot more simple than you might imagine and in many respects, it’s a less complicated process than it is in North America.
First of all, it is totally legal for a foreigner to own property in Ecuador. As a new owner of a home or property, you will be registered as the legal owner of the property with all the appropriate government agencies and you will have all the rights afforded to any other property owner in this country.

We’re here to help you with every step of the process. We can recommend a lawyer who will make the process of legalizing your purchase as stress-free as possible. We’ll even translate for you if your Spanish isn’t yet up to local standards.
If you do buy a home, you’ll need a visa so you can stay here for longer periods of time (or permanently if that’s your plan). If you invest a minimum of US$48,000 (and buying a house or property qualifies as an investment), then you automatically qualify for an Ecuador Investors Visa which gives you legal resident status in the country. We can help you with that as well.
Some property vendors offer incentives to come and check out their home. For example, some vendors will reimburse you for a portion of your expenses to come down here and view their property.
Contact us with any question you might have and take the first step to a more genuine, less stressful way of life.
